Solar-Powered Volumetric Flow Control System – Ibafo
In line with its mission to deliver innovative gas infrastructure solutions, GCA Energy is currently executing the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPIC) of a Solar-Powered Volumetric Flow Control System (VFCS) at the Ibafo AGI facility in Ogun State. This installation forms part of NNPC Gas Infrastructure Company’s (NGIC) nationwide initiative to deploy VFCS units across strategic locations in Nigeria.
Contract/Project Overview:
Location: Ibafo AGI, Ogun State
Pipeline: 24” gas supply line to the Ibafo-Shagamu Interchange
Flow Capacity: 0–100 MMSCFD
Power Supply: Standalone solar system with batteries and inverter bank
Metering: Inline ultrasonic flow meter
Control System: RTU integrated with NGIC’s SCADA for real-time monitoring and control
Scope of Work: Detailed engineering, infrastructure tie-in, civil construction, instrumentation, electrical systems, and commissioning

GCA Energy Limited, in partnership with Compass Energy Systems Ltd., proudly secured the contract for the Procurement and Installation of 2 × 10MMSCFD Booster Compressors along with other associated scopes for the Ekulama 1 and Ekulama 2 Associated Gas Gathering (AGG) Compression Station.
This project, endorsed by NNPC Management and facilitated through NAPIMS, is a key part of Nigeria’s broader initiative to optimize gas capture, reduce flaring, and enhance gas utilization.
